Ingredients

  • 2 medium size onions (julienne cut)
  • 1 cup Chana soaked overnight
  • 1 medium size tomato
  • 2 whole red chilies
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 100 ml mustard oil (very important)

Process

Boil the Chana and make sure that it is soft.
Heat 100 ml of mustard oil in a pot and put 1 bay leaf , 2 whole red chilies, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon black pepper, let the cumin crack and the add the julienne onion cut, add salt as per your taste.

Fry the onions and make sure it is golden brown not more than.

when the onions are fried then take out everything and blend it mixer with 1/2 cup water.

once the paste is ready then then use the same oil to fry the paste on medium heat till the oil is separated

Now mix the boiled the Chana into the paste and let it simmer for 5 mins.

Once that is done you can switch off the gas and serve in a pot. Now chop the tomato and add it for garnish.

You can enjoy it with Rice or paratha as you like. I personally prefer it with rice for amazing combination.
